Some Hillbilly: Something About September

I can't describe everything at once, but to sum it up, the last days of August had actually been insane and beautiful, and it had ended gently somehow. Finally September has come. What better way to start it is the long holiday! Although i am missing some people at work, the long weekend is a good chance to recharge and contemplate and reflect on oneself.

For some reason September is the month of the year that i always anticipate. Not because it's my birthmonth, but there's something extra special about it.

...something about the weather that i love the most back in the Philippines, when it's especially nice and temperate and beautiful. The colors of nature make you imagine that fall is coming in a tropical country. It's a very lovely scene.

...something about the semestral break when i was in university, when the siblings would come home to spend a week or so with each other just to catch up with everything that happened the entire schoolyear.

...something about the family and friends that make the remaining months of the year worth living.

...something about becoming a year older.

...something about the hometown library where i made the most crucial and emotional decision: to quit my last job and start a new journey abroad.

...something about the approaching festivities and more holidays until the end of the year.

Now the idea of me-time is actually depressing. September makes me feel blue...and homesick. The memories back home are flashing one by one, those sweet and tender recollection... But because i consider this month as my favorite, i'd like to accentuate the little things that make it more special. These may not make sense to others, but they just make my life brighter...and September makes me appreciate them more.
