As part of our 4-day trip, my friends and I went to Siquijor, also known as Isla del Fuego on the second day. I prepared myself mentally before going there since i heard a lot of puzzling stories about the mysterious place...enchanted creatures, creepy encounters, scary this and that... But I didn't let it bother me, because I wanted to enjoy and take advantage of our holiday. I guess my mental conditioning worked (hahaha) because when we got there, i didn't feel like i was in a different place. I felt familiar with the atmosphere and there's no strange aura. It was just like visiting my hometown. But I was captivated with the place. It's beautiful and clean and fresh and quiet.
The best part was...the resort where we stayed. Weeks before, we made a reservation in Villa Marmarine. I've seen pictures of it on the net and i was amazed. We made up our minds right away to choose the resort. We were fully satisfied with everything! Upon arriving at the reception area, the beautiful terrace facing the sea welcomed our sights and it was very refreshing. It kindof released our heavy feeling from a lengthy travel by bus from Cebu to Dumaguete and via fast craft from Dumaguete to Siquijor.

Our cottage was very nice, it was clean and cozy (at a very reasonable price kkk)...with its classic wood-tiled floors and concrete walls, wide balcony with a hammock, Japanese inspired toilet and bath with a glass wall curtained with hanging strings of sea shells, satellite cable tv, minibar, and wifi!...we felt at home!
Four poster bed good for two.

Everything filled us with awe, the tranquil atmosphere was just right, the tropical coconuts blended well with green lawn and the white sand. The weather was also good. Everything was perfect.
Strolling around the place was a wonderful experience. We just couldn't get enough of the beach. We went swimming in the late afternoon, walked on the clean and pure white sand, and took pictures endlessly.
After few hours, we went back to our cottage, chatted a little and prepared ourselves for dinner. They serve a variety of local and international dishes and cool beverages. We treated ourselves with a mouth-watering...
Ikasumi or pasta negra...
sinigang...
free ice cream ^^
Dinner was served by friendly staffs wearing Kimono...it was amusing!
After eating, we stayed a little longer in the terrace, just felt the cool breeze, talked and laughed...
It was then time to go back to our cottage and take some rest...
...the two other friends were upstairs...good night!

A friendly tour guide took us to different spots...

Salagdoong beach resort...
After about 4 hours of touring around, we went back to our haven to pack our things.
It was then time to bid goodbye to this paradise...
with the friendly staffs ^ ^
Our stay was quite short, but we were very grateful for the time we spent there. We will surely never forget the excellent place, the friendy people, the delicious food, everything. To sum it up, Villa Marmarine Resort is one of a kind and Siquijor is a place to be included in everyone's travel list!
